Our Mission
Gold Beach Youth Fund’s primary purpose shall be to provide resources to enhance the educational and extracurricular experience of Central Curry County youth, from Pistol River north to Ophir.

The Wild Rogue Youth Foundation, dba Gold Beach Youth Fund [GBYF] was established in response to the Central Curry School District’s Strategic Planning Committee needs assessment. The intent of our foundation is to increase revenue and funding to enable improvements in the educational and extracurricular resources of Gold Beach youth.
Grants & Scholarships
GBYF believes that access to educational opportunities is a social determinant of health in our community.
Freeman Endowment Fund
For vocational or trades education who intend to remain in Curry County
Harry Carlson Endowment Fund
For scholarships to trade schools.

Scott Mcnair
President
Scott McNair is a founding member of GBYF. Graduating from Gold Beach High School in 2001 and Oregon State University in 2007, Scott returned home to Gold Beach after college to join and help grow the family businesses.

Jeremy Skinner
Vice President
Jeremy Skinner is one of the founding board members of GBYF. He has a BA in history from Lewis & Clark College, an MA in history from Portland State University, and a MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington.

Kyle Ringer
Treasurer
Kyle Ringer has served on the GBYF board since 2016. A graduate of Gold Beach High School, Kyle spent a year overseas in South Africa on a Rotary International Youth Exchange before returning to Oregon where he received his BS in Horticulture.

Kathy Shindler
Secretary
Kathy Shindler has served on the GBYF board since 2015. She has lived in Gold Beach since 1980, raising her family here and enjoying a 35-year career as IT manager for an international manufacturing organization.

Tyrel Wardle
Director
Tyrel Wardle was appointed to the GBYF board in 2016. Graduating from GBHS in 1999, he attended Western Oregon University before deciding to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Melbourne, Australia from 2001-2003
where the importance of community, service and hard work was reinforced.

Director
Vera-Anne Wallace has been a GBYF board member since 2016. Vera is a trusted name in the real estate industry and a local entrepreneur with extensive experience in marketing. Vera-Anne has been prominently involved in the Central Curry School District and the local community as a dedicated volunteer.

Snack Pack Program
Initial fundraising effort supported the Snack Pack Program out of Riley Creek School, which
was going to close due to lack of funds.
Drinking Fountains
4 or 5 purified drinking fountains were replaced and installed in both the High School and Elementary School
Swing Set
New swing set with safety border and wood chips installed and assembled
Math Technology
Purchase of technology for students to use for math
Music Students
Monetary assistance to multiple students traveling overseas to play music
Athletic Groups
Monetary holdings for specific athletic groups: girls’ basketball, wrestling, boys’ basketball,
volleyball, football, etc.
Display Cases
Renovation and installation of the hallway in the High School with over 40′ of new display cases for
trophies, students’ work, and art.
Equipment & Supplies
Monetary assistance to specific requests from teachers and coaches in the district for
equipment and supplies

Organized and hosted community fundraising Cornhole tournaments
